Malacañang Allays BPO Concerns AnewThe national government has once again tried to appease worries concerning the possible exit of a number of American business process outsourcing (BPO) companies from the Philippines in line with the incoming US administration’s anti-outsourcing policies. Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said that while Trump’s policies include bringing companies back to the US, there has been no concrete action to date that may force American companies to do it. He said that the BPO sector in the Philippines will continue to be secure and continue to expand. Abella also said that the issue of outsourcing was not discussed during the telephone conversation between president-elect Trump and Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte on Friday night, 2nd December.
