BPO Sector to Continue Sustaining PH GrowthUniversity of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) economist Dr. Bernardo Villegas believes that the country’s economic growth will be sustainable due to the bullish business process outsourcing (BPO) sector. The UA&P forecast the economy to hit growth levels of as much as 10% in 2017 on the back of the government’s 10-point agenda, low inflation, and mild interest-rate environment. Villegas said the bullish BPO sector, together with the tremendous push in tourism, will continue to support the growth forecasts.

He also believed that outsourcing companies will leave the Philippines even with the expected protectionist policies of US President-elect Donald Trump. Villegas said the Philippines in unbeatable in the BPO sector and more capable young English speaking graduates will be available to work in the sector due to the K-12 educational program of the country.
